This DVD is an old interview with George Plimpton where he talks about Clemente, shows some footage and stills and travels around with Willie Stargell and talks to him about Clemente.
I gave it three stars (maybe 2 1/2) for the simple fact that it contains some old footage and photos of Clemente and Stargell that I had not seen before, and any fan of Clemente or the Pirates would be happy to see it. It’s not spectacular footage of great catches or his great arm, and the quality of the video is not great, but for nostalgic purposes it’s fine.
The $20 price tag was a bit much for the less than 25 minutes of film. No extras or anything. Most sports or baseball fans, and probably a few Pirate fans, might not get everything they would want for the amount of money.
But, for anyone like me, any old Clemente or Stargell footage is great to have.
