For highest quality signal transfer in digital components using Toslink optical to Toslink optical connections. The optical signal offers more digital information at higher speed and only a cable manufactured with glass fiber will provide this extra data. Because the information is converted into light impulses that are sent over the fiber optic cable, the signal is immune from RF or magnetic interference. Fiber optic Toslink connections are used on high-end stereo equipment and often seen on MiniDisc players & recorders.

Review by alendar for 3 FT Digital Audio Optical TOSLink Cable
Rating:
I know that the product clearly states it is 3 ft, but I didn’t realize how short that is. This is more of a warning to buyers to make sure they have an adequate length. My TV is 3 ft wide, so getting the cable to the stereo is difficult. Also, make sure and take the covers off the tips! I can’t be the only person to not know those needed to come off. Also, my TV outputs a low line signal and so the volume is not too loud. I don’t know if this is typical in TVs.
Review by Robert Hodgson for 3 FT Digital Audio Optical TOSLink Cable
Rating:
It costs $1, so what can you expect? Shipping was 75% of the cost, but still less expensive than buying one locally. The cable works. Though the title is contradictory, this is indeed a 3-ft cable (not 12). The only thing I find dubious about this product is that it doesn’t “latch” very securely when attached. That is, you don’t get a real firm and confident “click” into many applications, and it does not seem to want to connect to my XBOX-360 at all. Otherwise, a good product.
