The King co-stars with a pre-2001 Gary Lockwood as freelance pilots stranded in Seattle, where Elvis spends more time babysitting a little kid than panting after ostensible love interest Joan O’Brien. There’s more plot than usual for a Presley picture, which in this case is not a good thing, and the songs are pallid, save “One Broken Heart for Sale.” The real kick is the futuristic look of the World’s Fair, as personified by Seattle’s Space Needle and Monorail (both of which serve as backdrops for EP songs). Just three years out of the Army, Elvis’s persona is thoroughly square and tame, ruffled only by the occasional comic double-take. And yes indeed, that is little Kurt Russell, future star of Elvis, kicking the King in the shins in a couple of scenes. –Robert Horton

“It Happened at the World’s Fair” 2004 DVD release
Legal problems (music rights) may have forced Warner to pull “It Happened at the World’s Fair” (1963) from VHS release but now the movie has been cleared, remastered and planned for DVD in 2004.

To help anyone who might be confused after reading Mr. Repsher’s review, Widescreen format does not cut off anything at all..no heads..no legs, all body parts remain intact.
The “Pan and Scan” or Full screen format is what will cut or “crop” the film like framing a picture.
That being said this is a very good variety pack if you will of Elvis movies, the color and audio is much better than has been seen on TV and for $30.00 for 6 Elvis movies is a bargain.

I remember watching Elvis movies on tv when I was young, when they had “Elvis movie week” during the afternoon. I can honestly say that this is the only Elvis movie I remember anything about, and that I remember actually liking it. What I liked most (now this was when I was 12 yrs. old or so) was how the little Chinese girl worked as matchmaker for Elvis and the nurse to get together. I just really loved it!! I also liked that Elvis was a very kind and loving man to a lost little girl. Now, I just saw this video again after not having seen it in over 25 years, and I was happy to find that I STILL like it, actually, I like it much better than I did when I was young. I was glad, because this is not true of all movies, Superman being an example. Well, this time I saw a lot in the movie that I did not remember. I especially liked when Elvis was with Dorothy in the beginning and he sings the song “Relax”. It is just very funny. I liked his eye check-up scene with the nurse. I think Elvis looked very handsome walking around in a suit all the time. The scene of him riding in the monorail was beautiful and romantic. All I can say is that this is a GREAT Elvis movie, and all my children love it too. I think most of the songs are okay too, but the ending was a bit hokey. I hope this video will come back for sale because it really is one of Elvis at his best and most handsome.

I think the company who made this great collection based there choises for this set from Europe’s TCM & MGM channels,as they have shown many times those 6 movies of Elvis to be the most watcheble on prime time .
From the classical “JAILHOUSE ROCK”, to “IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLDS FAIR”
A collection must have of the KING
